How to use them

  • Open the 3MF if there is one. A 3MF can carry the plate layout and orientation; an STL is only the mesh. Both open in Bambu Studio, PrusaSlicer, OrcaSlicer and Cura.
  • Keep the supplied orientation unless the listing says otherwise. Functional parts are often designed to print on their side so the layers run along the load.
  • Check fit before a long print. Our guide to printing multi-part and threaded models covers clearances and supports, and Gridfinity explained covers the storage grid.
  • Game-ready models import like any other game asset: check scale against a 1 m cube first.

Licence

Free assets come with the same Standard licence as everything else on AssetLoom. In short:

  • use them in personal and commercial projects: games, apps, videos, websites and client work;
  • modify them as much as you like, and sell physical prints made from 3D files;
  • no attribution required and no expiry;
  • don't resell, share or re-upload the files themselves, changed or unchanged.

AI-training permission is stated separately on each listing. The full details, with examples, are on the licence page.

Questions

Can I sell what I print?
Yes. The Standard licence lets you sell physical objects printed from the files, in any quantity. You can't sell or share the print files themselves.
Have these models been test-printed?
Each listing says so in its print details. Our printables are checked in software for watertight, manifold geometry, and the listing shows whether we have test-printed the part ourselves.
Are these assets really free?
Yes. They cost 0 Loom Credits. Sign in with a verified account, choose Get for free on the asset page, and it goes to your library like any other asset.
Can I use free assets in commercial projects?
Yes. Free assets come with the same Standard licence as every other AssetLoom asset: use them in personal and commercial projects, for yourself or for clients, with no royalties. You can't resell or share the files themselves.
Do I need to credit AssetLoom?
No. Attribution is not required, though we always appreciate it.
Can I use them to train an AI model?
Only if the listing says so. Commercial use does not include AI training, and every listing states its AI-training permission separately.
